The Selfreliacne Association was founded in the Ukrainian Village of Chicago on January 25, 2020, on the basis of the American-Ukrainian Selfreliance Society, established in 1950 to help newly arrived immigrants, and the Ukrainian-American Federal Credit Union Selfreliance.

The dream of a center that would give everyone easy access to the advice of professionals, combine our resources of knowledge and opportunities, help navigate the flow of sometimes contradictory information and thus contribute to the individual development of each member of the association and the community as a whole, was born long ago and became even more relevant in today's information age.

Our goal is to help HERE and TODAY people who have faced a variety of complex legal, medical issues, or due to various circumstances, found themselves in a difficult situation, and it's not just words!

Our priority tasks:

1. Consultation and filing Cash, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and Medical aid applications.

2. Consultation on personal credit history systems.

3. Advice on the real estate market.

4. Notary consultation.

5. English lessons.

6. Consultation with representatives of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Chicago.

7. Consultation with an insurance agent.

8. Lawyer consultation - immigration, legal and civil issues.

9. Classes on the computer program.

10. Information selection for job search.

11. Constant information support of our activity with the assistance of "Ukrainian Independent Radio".

12. Constantly updating information about the above services on our website.

 

We are very glad that we finally have a public organization whose slogan is "Not profit, Not charity, but Service to the Community!" and we want to assure that we will follow our slogan.
